Can broken feed screws be repaired?

Yes, most broken or badly damaged feed screws can be repaired. Base materials of construction and break location are the main factors in determining repairability.

If you have a broken or damaged feed screw, please send us several pictures along with the screw material of construction if known, and we’ll advise. If material is unknown we can determine that upon receipt.

Can tool steel screws be rebuilt?

In general, we typically do not rebuild thru-hardened tool steel screws. However, in some cases tool steel screws can be restored to original specification using high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) hard-surfacing spray.
